On Thursday July 3rd RVC Learn will be upgraded to version 3. RVC Learn will be placed into read-only mode to facilitate the upgrade, which means that users can log in and access courses, but will not be able to edit or upload new content. This includes creating new activities and resources.
The upgrade process is expected to take less than a day, and RVC Learn should be fully operational on Friday July 4th.
A new design for RVC Learn is also currently in development. The new theme will make it significantly easier to view RVC Learn on a range of devices including iPads, iPhones, androids and tablets. It is envisaged that the new theme will be applied after the upgrade, and will have no effect on the daily use of RVC Learn.
The upgrade to 2.6 bring a host of new features including:
- Ability to annotate PDF files directly within browser
- Conveniently allocate student assignments to different markers, and control when marks are released to individual students
- Editing tools have been grouped together to in a simple dropdown menu for easy accessibility across desktop and mobile devices
- A more user-friendly text editor
- Easily access files from Microsoft Skydrive
- Improved calendar handling with multiple calendar support
