The second version of the Online Veterinary Anatomy Museum (OVAM) is now live. The museum currently contains over a 1000 different resources, including images, Powerpoint® presentations, flash animations and videos. These cover a range of topics related to anatomy, such as histology, dissection, osteology, and even some embryology.
As well as visual materials, there are also a number of learning resources in the form of multiple-choice quiz questions and interactive ‘drag-and-drop’ activities, which users can use to consolidate their knowledge. The material is structured by using species, body systems and body regions as a basis for navigation, accommodating different learning styles and preferences.
Content can also be searched by using the search function for ‘keywords’. The wide range of content forms an extremely useful additional resource for first and second year anatomy students, as well as for those wishing to brush up on their anatomy knowledge or for academics looking for material to use in their teaching.
