Recent phishing emails have been sent to students asking for fee payment, these emails look as though they are coming from an RVC email address (student fee payment). Please beware and discard any emails immediately if you believe they are not genuine. If you have inadvertently opened an email or clicked a link and responded to it, please let IT Helpdesk know as soon as possible.

'Phishing' is a criminally fraudulent process that attempts to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords or credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.

If you receive an unexpected email asking for personal information, payment, to verify login details, to download files or anything requesting you to open a file from an unknown sender then DO NOT respond. Some of these malicious emails might be very convincing and may even appear to have been sent from an @rvc.ac.uk address.

It is the RVC IT Department’s policy not to ask users for their passwords. If you are unsure of the validity of any emails, please contact helpdesk@rvc.ac.uk
